Let’s face it. Not everyone has great typing skills. For instance, when someone incorrectly types in a name of one of your pages on your website, then displays the default server page that normally says something like ” File Not Found “, or “Error 404,” they will probably end up leaving your website and go visit a competitors website. Or, what happens when you delete a page from your website and it is still cached in Google? When someone clicks that page from the serps, you don’t want them to get that ugly default error 404 page, you want them to actually get a page from your website that contains at a minimum, just your header and footer links. Probably a better way to go about it is having not only your header and footer links, but also have a list of your more popular pages right in the main body section, acting as a sitemap.
So how do you do this? There are many resources such as this link or you may just want to check with your Cleveland Web Design and SEO Company. This is a very common control panel built into most website host’s administration area.
Here is an example of a 404 Error Page of a very well known Naples Florida Art Gallery website that I developed and just recently launched, called the Weatherburn Gallery.
For more information on custom 404 files, please contact ATX Webmasters today and one of our SEO Specialists will gladly help you!

Use these tips when you want to keep your FLASH website:
Provide links to alternative pages on your website that contain valid HTML and text that contain your targeted keywords and phrases.
Place some text around your Flash movie (.swf) that contain your target keywords and phrases for your SEO campaign.
Name your FLASH file according to your keywords. e.g. “Web-Design.swf”
Use the <object standby=”enter some copy here”> attribute and include some copy that will display while the movie loads.
Use the <object title=”My Keyword Rich Title Goes Here”> attribute to use a title that includes your targeted keywords and phrases.
The <noembed> tag can be used to provide copy for web browsers which don’t support the Flash plug in. Describe the contents of your Flash movie in that area because search engines are able to index that description.
Make use of internal linking from your HTML only pages that link to your Flash pages. Be sure to include your keywords in the link to the flash page.
Seperate SWF files into seperate web pages. Don’t build an entire website using one SWF file. Not only will this help with SEO, it will allow uses to bookmark and link to individual web pages of your site.
Flash 8 has support for XMP metadata which helps supports issues with Search Engine support and caching problems. If your using FLASH 8, enter the Title and Description Fields in the modify document properties panel. Some search engines are not able to support this function as of yet, but we would suggest that you start this common practice now to be prepared for the future of SEO and Flash.
If you are struggling with your Flash Website and would like help with search engine rankings, please visit ATX Webmasters in Cleveland, Ohio. They are well versed in all areas of Web Design, Web Development, and Search Engine Optimization.

Webmasters sometimes believe that they already know the “best” keywords for their website, or ecommerce store. Most of the time they are wrong, and here are some reasons why.
Your customers don’t know as much as you do about your products or business in general. They don’t know the terminology and they might use different keywords to search Google, Yahoo, and Live Search. For example, a recent study found out that many people search for nose job instead of the clinical term or keyword “rhinoplasty” resulting in lower quality results for the potential client, and less business for the doctor.
It’s very important that you find the right keywords to not only get you more traffic, but to get you the traffic that will convert into sales. For example, one keyword that seems to get the most traffic in the web design business in the Cleveland, Ohio area is Cleveland Web Design. This keyword alone gets us about 20 - 30 unique visitors a day. Unfortunately, the keyword phrase does not convert into sales. So, just because you may get traffic on a certain keyword, or phrase, doesn’t always mean it will convert. The reason being in this case is, 80% of the traffic we get is from our competition checking out our website.

ATXWebmasters.com just posted a good article on search engine optimization and how it can increase your website sales. The article outlines reasons why getting your website optimized is like adding another sales person or two to your staff. I can honestly say that, this is VERY TRUE. Our website generates roughly 50% of our leads because our website is optimized and currently has over 700 first page listings in Google. Not to mention Yahoo, Live, and Ask. The best part about having your website generate new leads and sales is, there are no additional employee expenses to deduct. Which, in turn, produces a higher profit margin for your company.
Now, lets dig a little deeper and think about how much new employees cost your company:
- Recruiting Expenses
- Drug screening
- Background checks
- Employee Salary
- Employee Commissions
- Employee Benefits - Healthcare, Vacations, etc.
- Employment Taxes - S.S., Medicare, Worker’s Comp, etc.
- Office Space
- Office Equipment
I could probably go on forever outlining the costs associated with employees, and so could you. So back to the point of the article on ATXWebmasters.com, which was: Why hire another EXPENSIVE and unproductive employee, when you can have your website generate new leads and sales for you?
The SEO service that ATXWebmasters’ provides is very cost effective, and highly profitable for your company. The cost’s associated with the seo service depends on the size of the website, plus the competition in your market. However, ATX does provide a “Basic” SEO service for $999, that will provide great results for most small - medium sized businesses with a website under 20 pages. With that in mind, how much did you spend hiring your last employee? …. that much huh? LOL..
Well my friends, consider contacting ATXWebmasters a Cleveland SEO Firm today for a Free Website Analysis and Quote, or call 440-205-9500.

Here is a screen shot of ATX WEBMASTERS’ sitelinks from the Google SERPS. The links automatically generated from Google are NOT what we would have chosen, but we’ll take them anyway! Someday, (hopefully soon) Google will open up and give us “webmasters” a little more direction on how to edit these. As for right now, all we are able to do is turn them off in the webmaster tools page.
Sitelinks are automatically generated from Google’s Sitelink Algorithms for well optimized, and structured websites. Google shows the Sitelinks in the results pages when they think it’ll be useful to the user. To learn more about SiteLinks, visit Google’s Help Pages.

On todays posting at Ohio SEO dot net, I wanted to write something catchy that would get the attention of a lot folks in the blog communities. So I started looking around for article ideas on the latest tech gear, seo trends, search engine news, etc.. But, instead of writing an article using some cool topics I’ve found, I decided to share some of the headlines that caught my attention. I’ve removed the actual topics from the headlines, and created headline templates that work.

Anyone who has had experience in developing a search engine marketing strategy knows that it can be extremely complicated. Clients are usually completely unaware of the intricate work involved in a successful search engine optimization project. Each optimization project is unique and thus each requires a specific course of action. Even if a search optimization company works diligently it may still not achieve the desired results as soon as a customer might wish. This is because results are dependent on factors that are out of the optimizer’s hands such as the next crawl date.
In an attempt to avoid future disagreements we suggest that timeframe expectations should be brought to the client’s attention prior to starting a project. If a firm waits too long to discuss these expectations they may begin to sound like excuses and cause the customer to view the company as incompetent. The amount of time can vary greatly depending on the domain. Explain factors such as if your client has a brand new website, it will take longer to be indexed on Google than a website that has been around for a few years. Generally, new domains are crawled much less frequently than those that have been established. To sum, be honest with your customers and yourself…if you agree to unrealistic timeframes you are asking for countless problems down the road.
ATXWebmasters.com has an extensive Search Engine Optimization Marketing Service that entails everything from consultation, keyword research, copy writing, redevelopment of the website as needed, creation of incoming links, submission to all major search engines, plus, reporting on its results.
